To foster and promote an authentic "Living History" reenactment depicting the period of the American Civil War 1861-1865.

To educate the general public to the unique and personal experiences of our forefather's service and sacrifices to this nation's call to duty.

To preserve and present exhibits, demonstrations, and lectures that correlate the social relevance of today's youth with that of other young men and women from our nation's past.

To collect and showcase materials and equipment essential to create an accurate three-dimensional record than encompasses the history of Americans during the Civil War.

Our primary goal and purpose is the gathering and sharing of historical information concerning the Civil War. The sharing of knowledge between the living historians and the general public provides a unique and valuable source of information to the public, students, history buffs, and anyone else interested in learning from the past.

Though living history demonstrations, living historians of the 69th share Civil War era related information and knowledge, including military and civilian crafts, maps, statistics, facts, stories, opinions, ideas, and tidbits of details not generally known to the public. Demonstrations include camp life, military life, and women's roles in the military and at home.

The 69th is located in Southern California and has provided educational programs at museums, reenactments, historical missions, parades, public and home schools, as well as participation in civic events. All the materials used and distributed during these programs were funded by our membership. We are a non-profit organization and are associated with the United Veteran Organizations of Orange County.
